Rights4Girls is a national human rights organization working to end gender-based violence against young women and girls. Founded in 2011 by advocates and attorneys, the organization was created to ensure that girls—too often invisible in justice, child welfare, and policy systems—are seen, heard, and prioritized.
Through research, education, and advocacy, Rights4Girls works to end harmful narratives that punish survivors and instead advance solutions rooted in safety, dignity, and justice. Their work is guided by the lived experiences of survivors, especially girls of color, whose voices shape policy conversations and drive meaningful reform.
Sex trafficking and exploitation are fueled by demand—and it is women and girls who bear the cost. Rights4Girls’ Buyers Unmasked report revealed that more than 90% of women and girls in the sex trade experience extreme violence, and their mortality rate is 200 times higher than the general population.
The report also exposed the mindset of buyers themselves. One admitted, “It’s an addiction…once you start, it’s hard to stop.” Another confessed, “I know she didn’t want to be there, but I didn’t care.” These stark realities underscore why curbing demand is central to preventing trafficking.
With campaigns like Sex Buying Isn’t a Game—which reached millions during March Madness and other major sporting events—Rights4Girls is helping communities, lawmakers, and the public recognize how demand fuels exploitation.
This grant enables Rights4Girls to expand survivor-centered research, advance the Survivor Model in states across the country, and support policies that protect survivors while holding exploiters accountable. Together, we are changing not just laws, but culture.
